Birthsource™ Lamaze Childbirth Educator Program We serve the Mid-Atlantic States and more with Lamaze Childbirth Educator Seminars. Regardless of your educational needs, we continue to work to meet your needs. Our Faculty is experienced in the maternal/child health field and are experienced training professionals. Additionally, we are accepting applications for new Trainers. Soon, there will be an application available as a PDF under our Program at www.lamaze.org. Doula Education Program ~ The JJ Way
We are proud to announce in 2013 that we are affiliated with Commonsense Childbirth and Doula Education Programs of Jennie Joseph, Midwife! A doula, also known as a childbirth assistant, is a healthcare professional who provides non-medical support and care through education, guidance and counseling for pregnant and parenting women and families. She promotes a healthy pregnancy and encourages active participation throughout the childbearing year. She offers prenatal and postpartum home visits and once labor has begun, is available continuously at the delivery site assisting the parents during the birth of their child. An accomplished doula advocates, educates and supports a woman, her partner and her family through one of the most precious times in their lives. “......[use of doulas] significantly reduced cesarean section rates, forceps deliveries, need for oxytocin, and use of epidural anesthesia.
