During this time, you will be eagerly, EAGERLY awaiting the birth of your baby! Time seems to stand still and the aches and pains associated with late pregnancy add to your eagerness! Like fine wine, babies are born when they are ready and not when we are. Patience and understanding that pregnancy is but a blink in the eye of a lifetime is a concept that parents should embrace.
Prepare physically and emotionally for birth now. Get the baby's room ready, buy little things for the baby, read and take classes ~ these things will help the time to pass quickly. Getting involved with other expectant parents will help you to see that you are not alone in your feelings, especially Dads!
Some physical milestones reached by babies during the third trimester include: 28 weeks nails appearing, eyelids opening and receptive to light. 30 weeks fat beginning to collect, skin pink and smooth, assuming birth position, able to turn head side to side, sense of taste present, aware of sounds outside mothers body. 36 weeks skin pink, body rounded, body usually plump, sleep wake cycle established.
