Meet the Prez...
Connie Livingston BS, RN, LCCE, FACCE, CPCE, CHBE, CD(DONA), ICCE, IA-T
Connie has been a registered nurse for 33 years and a Lamaze International certified childbirth educator for 29 years. She has worked with expectant families in a variety of settings in many parts of the US. Connie is charter Fellow of the American College of Childbirth Educators. And she recently completed certification as an Aromatherapist!
One of the expectant parents in her childbirth education class once called her the "Labor Whisperer" and she has since trademarked that name!
Connie is a DONA certified doula and, as perinatal education coordinator, created the first hospital based doula program at a hospital in Dayton Ohio - one of the first 10 in the United States. She has served as a DONA approved doula trainer for 10 years and has previously served on the Boards of ASPO/Lamaze, ICEA, DONA (past editor of the International Doula), and CAPPA (past Co-Director of Childbirth Education). The Ohio House of Representatives has honored her for her contributions to Maternity Care. She is also a member of AWHONN, and serves as Founder and the Program Coodinator of Advanced Birthing Concepts.
The author of over 1200 articles and three books for both parents and professionals, she is a frequent conference speaker, and consultant to childbirth education and hospital-based doula programs. Read her quote about the film "Orgasmic Birth" on the film's website.
During 2009, Connie had the honor of serving again as the editor of the International Journal of Childbirth Education for ICEA as well as holding a place on their board of directors as Director of Communications. She was also the creator/editor of the new ICEA E-Newsletter, which came out in the months between the Journal publication during 2009.
Connie and her husband have two daughters and a wonderful son-in-law!

Jamilla R. Walker, RN, BA, CPCE, ECLS
Jamilla is a research assistant for Perinatal Education Associates, Inc. She is also a nurse, birth doula, lactation & childbirth educator. She is pursuing a career as a midwife and lactation consultant and is both a chapter leader and board member of Dar a Luz, International. She recently relocated to High Point, North Carolina from Dayton, Ohio with her husband and enjoys reading, cooking, and exploring her new state.

Jennifer Ellis, Childbirth Educator & Birth Doula
Also one of our research assistants, Jennifer provides both group and private childbirth education classes and is a birth doula, providing emotional, physical, and spiritual support during labor. She also teaches basic infant care and provides breastfeeding support. Jennifer has a heart for teens, particularly teen mothers and works as an instructional aide in a middle school. In 2009, Jennifer had an article published in the International Doula about her experience acting as a doula at a clinic in the bush in Africa. She believes all women deserve to have the education and support they need during their pregnancy and birth and considers it a blessing to provide these services. Jennifer lives in Dayton with her husband and four children.
